There are four types of SAR membership

Regular Membership: Full membership in the National Society, Idaho Society, and Chapter. Dual membership in both the Fort Boise and Teton chapters is permissible.

At Large Membership: Those not wishing to belong to a specific chapter may join. However, they must join the NSSAR and IDSAR.

Junior Membership: There are three paths for Junior membership.

1. Establish a new lineage or Patriot ancestor.

2. Using an existing lineage which has already been accepted buy the Sons of the American Revolution or Daughters of the American Revolution.

3. A current active member of the National Society Children of the American Revolution may become a Junior member by submitting his birth certificate and a copy of his Member In Good Standing card.

Family Membership: Family Membership is for two or more individuals who have applied for membership and all have applied using the same ancestor. The family members must be within two generations of each other.
